Centrepiece of the LEGO House is incredible brick built tree

The LEGO House will open in the centre of Billund this September, anchored by an awe-inspiring LEGO build.

Up until now, the LEGO Group has kept the nature of the build secret. During the Fan Media event, Recognised LEGO Fan Media outlets were able to see the progress that has been made on the new venue. A staircase, taking guests to different floors of the LEGO House, will allow the tree to be viewable from all angles.

With the number of brick built builds that are frequently seen at fan conventions and LEGOLAND theme parks, it is easy for fans to shrug at ‘just another big build’, but the designers working on the LEGO House have clearly intended for this build to provide a ‘wow’ factor.

Carved – or more accurately, built – into the tree’s trunk are nods to the LEGO Group’s history. The famous wooden duck pull along toy, Ole Kirk Christiansen’s initials and a wooden fire truck represent the early years of the company.

The LEGO House, dubbed the ‘Home of the Brick’, will open on September 28.
