Dedicated LEGO streaming channel for Africa and the Middle East

iflix, a streaming service based in Malaysia, has signed a deal with the LEGO Group to stream TV content in Africa and the Middle East.

A new two year distribution deal will see iflix stream LEGO favourites such as NINJAGO in Africa and the Middle East. Various LEGO animated content, including Jurassic World: Indominus Escape, Marvel Super Heroes, DC Super Heroes, Friends and NEXO KNIGHTS, will be available to stream using the service. In total, that makes for 122 TV episodes.

Digital TV Europe shared a comment from iflix:

Iflix head of content Africa and the Middle East, Evert van der Veer said: “Lego is one of the world’s most recognized and beloved brands, and we are excited to bring Lego’s premium titles to our members both young and young-at-heart on a dedicated Lego-branded channel for all to enjoy. Iflix is committed to providing the best in entertainment from around the world to all our subscribers, and this deal with Lego is key to delivering on that promise.”

As the TV landscape continues to change, in particular the way that children consume such content, streaming deals may become a larger part of the LEGO Group’s delivery strategy. Content has already been exclusively distributed via Netflix in the US, including a Bionicle movie and Elves TV episodes.
