Happy 70th birthday to Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen
Today marks the 70th birthday of Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, the owner of the LEGO Group.
The grandson of the LEGO Group’s founder, Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, celebrates his 70th birthday today. It has been a landmark year for the owner of the beloved brand, as he saw the opening of his passion project, the LEGO House in the heart of Billund. Brick Fanatics had the pleasure of interviewing Kirk Kristiansen earlier this year, talking about the LEGO House and the importance of the fan community.
Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen is the third generation owner of the LEGO Group, and served as president and CEO from 1995 until 2004. He is the chairman of KIRKBI A/S, the family investment group that owns the LEGO companies, the LEGO foundation and a significant share of Merlin Entertainments. As a child in the 1950s, Kirk Kirstiansen famously featured on LEGO boxes along with his siblings.
