LEGO DC Super Hero Girls gets early US launch

The LEGO Group have issued a press release officially unveiling the first wave of DC Super Hero Girls sets ahead of New York Comic Con, with new details about the new theme’s roll out. It all forms part of the DC plan to introduce fans young and old, male and female to the full line-up of characters beyond Batman and Superman. A few of the sets will get an early US release in November, before the worldwide rollout in January 2017.

Featuring a powerful and diverse roster of renowned female DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains, LEGO® DC Super Hero Girls building sets engage children’s creativity and imagination to recreate the property’s action-packed, high school based storyline.

To leverage the momentum of the franchise this holiday gifting season, the company is advancing availability of three of the six new building sets to hit shelves on November 27, 2016, only in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with the remaining three becoming available during the originally scheduled global launch in January 2017.
