LEGO Ideas project of week 26/2

Time to take a look and highlight another project on LEGO Ideas, now last weeks proved popular and this week I narrowed it down to 3 projects I personally liked and ticked the boxes in what I look for in a project. In the end I went for not one but two projects by the creator of the Beatles Yellow Submarine. Both projects are of Vintage Trams and I could not decided which one I liked the best and I think one would look ace in my modular city as it goes with the era the modulars are kinda themed on.

The first one us flying with over 6000 supporters, Kevin details the project “model was built using LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). On the exterior, the tram features functioning entrance and exit doors of both sides of the tram, (though in real life only the doors on the starboard side are used). Other exterior details include headlights, guards, signage (Tram 22 Carmo-Batalha is one of the 3 lines still operational), rearview mirrors, as well as the classic logo of “SCTP”, the company that operates the Porto trams.

The model also features a removable top that provides access to the passenger carriage, which in turn holds up to 8 sitting passengers. The driver cab features a controls panel, 2 levers, as well as a fire extinguisher (see view with door removed).”

The second is themed on a Turkish tram but only has 304 supporters so far and Kevin details more “This model was built using LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). On the exterior, the tram features functioning entrance and exit gates, head and roof lights, signage, rearview mirrors, as well as the classic logo of “IETT”, the company that currently operates the Istanbul vintage trams. As shown in the model, one neat feature of Istanbul’s vintage trams is that they can be extended with a second car connected to the first.

The model also features removable tops that provide access to the passenger carriages, which in turn hold up to 6 sitting passengers each. The driver cab features a controls panel, 2 levers, as well as a fire extinguisher.”
