Lego Marvel Avengers Assemble at Top of UK Chart

The new video game from TT Games came out in the UK this past Friday but LEGO Marvel Avengers has already dethroned Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 to take the top spot on the UK chart for the week ending January 30th.  According to sales monitor Chart-Track, LEGO Marvel Avengers is the eighth LEGO game in the series’ history to reach the No.1 position. The last game, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, only managed to reach as far as No.2 in its debut week.

I’ve yet to get a copy for my Wii U but we will have a review of it soon from our game guru Adam. It’s just a shame it’s a standalone game and not connected to LEGO Dimensions. Have you played it yet? If so, is it better then the last Marvel outing?

The full top ten can be found below. This chart does not include digital sales data, and thus should not be considered fully representative of all UK game sales.

  1. LEGO Marvel Avengers
  2. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  3. FIFA 16
  4. Rainbow Six: Siege
  5. Star Wars Battlefront
  6. Grand Theft Auto V
  7. Just Cause 3
  8. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  9. Fallout 4
  10. Resident Evil Origins Collection

Here is a video of the first 12 mins of the game, thanks to gamespot.com:

Looking forward to the review. We haven’t had a chance to play much of it yet and I wasn’t overly impressed with what we did play. Not that it’s bad, just that the first Marvel Heroes game was just so good (up their with LOTR as the best Lego game in my opinion) and the fact that it wasn’t tied into a particular movie or story gave them a lot more freedom to play around with the characters and environments. What we’ve played of this one so far seems a bit all over the place… although the action and graphics are as solid as always.
