LEGO Star Wars, City and Friends Advent Calendars – Day 5
Each morning leading up to Christmas day, Brick Fanatics is cracking open all three official LEGO advent calendars to see what goodies are found within
Christmas is approaching and to celebrate the festive season, Brick Fanatics is opening up the LEGO advent calendars each day before sharing our thoughts on what is found behind the doors. Feel free to join us and share your own comments when opening up those advent calendar doors – whether you opted for Star Wars, City or Friends. You can do so on Facebook, Twitter or underneath this very feature.
75184 Star Wars: Rebel Soldier
Wow – two useful minifigures in the first five days of the LEGO Star Wars calendar has got to be some sort of record. If Battle Packs have proved anything it is that having hordes of generic figures to build armies with is awesome. Today’s generic rebel soldier is a welcome addition to the fold. The torso, hair and – bless you LEGO Group – a non stud shooter blaster makes the model coming through day five’s door worthy of a LEGO fan.
60155 City: Gingerbread house
I will confess to not immediately recognszing what this was, thinking at first it was some sort of Christmas tree ornament holder. While the model itself struggles for accuracy, those particular type of hinge bases in this colour may be a first. Having a range of colours in a collection is something every fan who likes to MOC should strive for. It may not be super exciting to add some rare coloured hinges to the collection, but it will be sweet, sweet satisfaction later when that MOC gets just the right piece.
41326 Friends: Dog
It’s time for more furry friends, this is our second in just five days. Detailed dogs are one of the many new norms thanks to the Friends theme. Animals such as this are something every builder of large displays should strive to have has many as possible of to sprinkle across a city, pirate town, or medieval village. Their immense versatility is often overlooked, it should not be though as they are at home in almost any theme.
