LEGO Star Wars sets retiring soon

A handful of LEGO Star Wars sets have been labelled as ‘retiring soon’ over at shop.LEGO.com, so it’s your last chance to buy them before they disappear from shelves for good.

Most, if not all, of the sets branded with the same imminent departure label over the Christmas period are long gone by now. Three less widely-available System sets are currently marked as ‘retiring soon’, including two Star Wars Rebels sets, 75158 Rebel Combat Frigate and 75141 Kanan’s Speeder Bike.

With the show approaching its fourth and final season, those sets will likely become hot property on the aftermarket – particularly 75158, with its exclusive adult Ahsoka minifigure.

Also on the way out is 75142 Homing Spider Droid, and while few will have rushed to pick up what was essentially a lazy repackage of 2013’s 75016 Homing Spider Droid, if you were eyeing it up then you may need to act fast.

Lastly, if you’re a buildable figure fan, 75113 Rey is currently half price and retiring soon, so there’s never been a better time to buy.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
