LEGO Technic to celebrate 40th anniversary in 2017

Next year, one of the LEGO Group’s most niche product lines, LEGO Technic, will celebrate 40 years since the theme was born. LEGO Technic has changes over the years, but the product’s core mantra of offering a challenging, complex build to produce models that resemble their real-world counterparts has not changed.

Each set released during 2017 that’s part of the LEGO Technic line-up will include this special brick that commemorates 40 years of the theme’s existence. Enthusiasts will be pleased to see the fan-favourite theme’s longevity acknowledged, as those who love Technic tend to be extremely loyal. The attractive, understated element was discovered in the LEGO inventory by Brickset.

2016 has been a significant year for LEGO Technic, with 42056 Porsche GT 911 GT3 RS offering an attractive, unique design and 42055 Bucket Wheel Excavator giving fans a set on an incredible scale with working functions. Part of the 2017 product range was recently discovered online, and 42063 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure was announced to much fanfare.
