New Castle Hotel to be constructed at LEGOLAND Billund

Plans have been announced to build a Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND Billund, the original LEGO based theme park.

The first Castle Hotel opened at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort earlier this year, and a similarly uniquely themed hotel is confirmed to be coming to LEGOLAND Billund in 2019. There will be 142 rooms in the new hotel, themed around knights, wizards and princesses.

The press release reveals that the LEGOLAND team intend to increase the level of immersion that guests experience:

“Our most important task is to create experiences that can soak the children completely into the amazing universes that arise with the LEGO brick. With the new hotel we will surpass all that we have previously created in LEGOLAND. When the children drive from here, they will not doubt that they have lived in a real castle, filled to the verge of adventure mood and LEGO magic,” says Christian Woller, director of LEGOLAND.

LEGOLAND park’s new hotel must meet the large and increasing demand for accommodation in connection with a visit to LEGOLAND. In addition, it actively participates in the realization of the Billund Municipality’s major vision plan to become known as the Children’s Capital, where the opening of LEGO House earlier this year marked the first major initiative.

“With such an exciting and unique experience as LEGO House as our new neighbor, we expect an even greater demand for accommodation in Billund in the future, and from 2019 we will be able to accommodate it in the ultimate way. We will also continue and strengthen our joint marketing campaigns with the attractions and accommodations in the municipalities around Billund, so that we can continue to draw even more tourists to the region,” says Christian Woller.

The new Castle Hotel is expected to be completed in spring 2019, with an investment of 200 million. kr. is the LEGOLAND park’s biggest investment to date.

This will be the third LEGOLAND accommodation option in Billund, joining the LEGOLAND Hotel and LEGOLAND Holiday Village.
