Santa’s Workshop – East Wing, Goods Out

Justin Winn spreads some festive cheer with this delightful LEGO recreation of Santa’s Workshop.

It’s a busy time of year for the elves in Santa’s Workshop, especially as we draw nearer to Christmas. This part of Santa’s Workshop is in the East Wing of the complex and is dedicated to final sorting and checks before presents are stored ready for delivery.

No building happens in this part of the workshop but there is an elf on hand for any last-minute tweaks and repairs that have been identified by the elf in charge of quality control. Anything that cannot be repaired by a simple tap with a hammer needs to be returned to the Rework Department in the neighbouring South Wing.

Santa Claus normally visits on his regular rounds and is often accompanied by Mrs Claus who is usually on hand with refreshments for the hard-working elves. Santa’s cat Eggnog can often be found in this part of the building as he enjoys this part of the process the most.

Every year I try to do a build for my children around the same time the tree and decorations go up. Over the year I’d sourced more elves and Mrs Claus, so decided to use my Brickstuff lighting set to provide extra lighting inside as it’s quite enclosed.

There are no particularly tricky techniques used in this build which was straightforward, aside from the hinged front of the building which I would have liked to have been stronger but aesthetically it wouldn’t have looked as nice.

A welcome break from my usual obsession with Classic Space – there’s not an airtank or Benny minifigure in sight. Enjoy and have a wonderful Christmas!
