The LEGO Batman Movie boosts Time Warner success

Time Warner, the company that is made up of many brands including Warner Bros., have had a successful start to the year in part thanks to The LEGO Batman Movie.

Variety report that Warner Bros. increased its revenue to $3.37 billion with an 8% increase in the first quarter of 2017, with The LEGO Batman Movie and other Kong movie, Skull Island, credited for contributing to the success. The LEGO Batman Movie grossed over $300 million around the world, with Kong: Skull Island bringing in over $550 million.

Time Warner earned $1.66 per share, above the predicted $1.45 per share for the period. The company is set to merge with AT&T by the end of the year.
