Wu in action in The Master: A LEGO NINJAGO Short clip

USA Today have an exclusive clip from the new short film, The Master: A LEGO NINJAGO Short, that introduces the world that cinema-goers will see in the full length movie next year. Paul Dobson has voiced Sensei Wu in the NINJAGO TV series, but the LEGO NINJAGO Movie – and this accompanying short – features the vocal talents of Jackie Chan as the venerable master. The clip sees Sensei Wu taking on a chicken, a more formidable foe than he might expect.

The entertainment website also has few comments from the short’s director:

“My writing partner and I went really off the wall showing Master Wu desperately wanting to star in his own short film, but this chicken keeps coming in and not allowing him to have his moment,” says director Jon Saunders, who wrote The Master with Ross Evans.

“It’s control vs. chaos. Wu is this character very much in control of his entire world, almost obsessive-compulsive (about) maintaining perfect order,” says Saunders. “Chicken is free-flow and chaos. When Master Wu accepts that it’s OK his temple got ruined, that nothing is perfect, that’s when they come into harmony.”

The short will play before Storks, due for release on October 14, 2016 in the UK. The LEGO NINJAGO Movie is due for release on September 23, 2017.
