12-year-old becomes LEGO Groups’s first ever Kid Creative Director

12-year-old rapper Robyn will become the LEGO Group’s first ever Kid Creative Director, joining a team of talented young people at the Kids Creative Studio.

The LEGO Group put out a call for the position back in March and now they’ve revealed their choice: Chicago-born rapper, Robyn, who also goes by the stage name Lil Bit Saucy. The idea for the Kids Creative Studio originally came from LEGO VIDIYO, with the LEGO Group seeing the creative possibilities of young minds.

There are already nine other talented kids on the team, including the most recent addition of Bella Klassen, a Canadian YouTuber who once danced on a tour with Justin Bieber.

Robyn will receive $10,000 from the LEGO Group to help her on her future creative pursuits, as well as mentoring opportunities and access to professional equipment and resources. The LEGO Group also commended four runners-up for the role in the blog post announcing Robyn’s appointment.

“Kids are really our role models at LEGO,” said Amanda Madore, Senior Brand Relations Manager at LEGO Systems, Inc in a statement to the Chicago Crusader. “They are creative geniuses, and we see from a very early age that they can do such incredible and inspiring things.”
