LEGO Marvel’s 2023 Hulkbuster expands on 2018 set thanks to bigger budget

The 2023 LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster model greatly expands on the 2018 Infinity War creation, but with a notable price increase. 

Likely thanks in part to a 33% increase in price, 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda is arguably a vast improvement on the Infinity War Hulkbuster design first depicted in bricks in 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up. The new set costs £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99 and the older model was available for £29.99 / $29.99 / €34.99.

With a higher piece count thanks to the price increase and more bricks dedicated to the main model rather than side-builds, 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda is much bulkier than the 2018 creation but still follows much of the design principles. 

The legs are still naturally bent, but now at a slight angle rather than with intrinsically connected elements at a 90-degree angle. Further detail has been added across the legs and up the build too, even though it only has 10 more elements, but with all of them going towards the Hulkbuster rather than a cannon tower as well.

The same element is still being used for the domed helmet, but the shoulders at the sides of 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda offer a far bulkier appearance than the model from 2018, better matching the appearance of the mech in the movie. 

Though it is more expensive for only 10 more elements, 76247 The Hulkbuster: The Battle of Wakanda appears to offer a more complete Hulkbuster than 76104 The Hulkbuster Smash-Up. You can pick up the new set from January 1, 2023, for £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.
