While blacksmith shops have appeared on a few occasions in LEGO sets, 21325 Medieval Blacksmith is one of the most impressive. It offers a large, fully-enclosed medieval structure, with fine exterior details like timber framing, stacked firewood and even an apple tree. A horse-drawn cart and a pair of Black Falcon knights – a reference to LEGO’s past ­– provide a pair of customers.

The ground floor contains the blacksmith’s workshop and features an anvil, various accessories and a forge that really lights up. The upper levels of the shop feature the blacksmith’s living quarters, with the first floor featuring a kitchen. This offers a table, two areas to prepare food and even a butter churn.

The top floor includes the blacksmith’s bedroom, with an intricately carved bed and a bearskin rug. There’s also a small writing desk for the blacksmith (or his lady companion) to write about their day. Since this is technically in the roof, one side can be lifted off for easier access to the interior.
