LEGO Technic 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car sells out in one day

The first officially-licensed Formula 1 LEGO Technic set has sold out almost everywhere after just one day on the official online store.

After less than 24 hours of availability in the UK and Europe, 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car has sold out temporarily on LEGO.com and is already on back order in the US with any future orders shipping out in 60 days from the time of writing.

The model was made in close partnership with the McLaren Racing team and reflects the 2022 Formula 1 car for the upcoming season of racing. We’ve compared the two versions here with one of the only notable differences being the design of the livery.

Those who were waiting for the 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute GWP to go live, or the double VIP points event in the US, to buy the build are likely out of luck. However, orders can still be made at the time of writing to be eligible for these deals, though the purchase won’t be shipped according to the back order status.
