LEGO 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar has an odd Drax minifigure
Following an earlier reveal, we now know what to expect from 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar, including its unique Drax minifigure.
Thanks to both online retailer JB Spielwaren and the LEGO building instructions server, we now have a clearer idea of the 24 miniature builds and minifigures that will be included in the upcoming festive set. As well as tiny versions of Star Lord’s tape desk, Yondu’s mining craft, the Milano and more, 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar also features minifigures of Star Lord, Rocket, Drax, Mantis, Nebula and Groot.
However, although the box features the logo for the forthcoming The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, rumoured to stream in Disney+ this December, we still don’t yet know if the contents of the advent calendar tie directly into the MCU show.
That’s particularly true when taking a closer look at the minifigure of Drax. The two previous versions of the character released with 76021 The Milano Spaceship Rescue and 76081 The Milano vs. The Abilisk portrayed the Destroyer with grey skin. Yet the minifigure included with 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar shows Drax with green skin for some reason.
This might possibly be connected to the character’s appearance in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, although it’s just as likely the minifigure’s green and red colouring lend Drax more of a festive look, matching his ugly Christmas sweater.
Although the set has yet to appear on LEGO.com, according to JB Spielwaren 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar is due for release on September 1 priced at €34.99.
