Aled Lewis’s diminutive 128-page hardback features dozens of double-page spreads of LEGO minifigures accompanied by humorous captions, making for a perfect coffee table book without the overwhelming size that genre usually commands.

It’s basically the kind of book you’ll pick up, peruse through a few pages and put down again rather than enjoying all at once, and in that regard might have been better suited to a wall calendar (or even a series of postcards). It’s still very digestible in book form, though, and you can imagine it going down well as a thoughtful gift for the right recipient.

Whether you or your loved ones are that right recipient will depend entirely on how much mileage you (or they) get out of the scenes in We Just Click: Little LEGO Love Stories. To their credit, they’re all brilliantly rendered using Mecabricks, which not only helps them to pop off the page, but has also allowed Aled to use colours of elements that don’t actually exist in physical form yet.

With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, We Just Click: Little LEGO Love Stories could hit that sweet spot as a gift that’s both LEGO and Valentine’s-themed, but won’t risk duplicating a LEGO set your partner already owns.
