In pictures: the 31 rejected LEGO Ideas projects about to be given a second chance
The BrickLink Designer Program is about to give 31 rejected LEGO Ideas models a second chance, and we’ve rounded up every single project in one huge gallery.
Twenty-seven different builders have signed up to take part in the BrickLink Designer Program, which will give their models the chance to go into production as official (though potentially not officially-branded) LEGO sets.
If they can successfully retool their concepts into models that withstand the LEGO Group’s rigorous testing process, the creators’ ideas will advance to a crowdfunding phase. The first 13 sets to reach 3,000 backers will then be produced and shipped later this year.
You can find out more about the ins and outs of the BrickLink Designer Program in our comprehensive guide, but if you’d just like to browse through the models that may be available to crowdfund from early June, take a look through the extensive gallery below.
Update: The five projects at the end of this gallery (The Dive Shop, Boat House Diner, Boat Repair Shop, Temple of Hermit and Japanese Old Style Architecture) have now been archived by their designers and will not be progressing past the pre-production phase.

Author Profile
- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
