LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader and Scout Trooper helmets revealed

Walmart has officially revealed two brand new additions to the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection, which seems to be sticking with the Empire for the foreseeable future.

75304 Darth Vader Helmet and 75305 Scout Trooper Helmet are the latest buildable icons pulled straight from the original Star Wars trilogy, and given the three we’ve already had, there’s a faint air of inevitability about them. (Can you imagine getting 75274 TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet and not Vader?)

That doesn’t make them any less exciting to finally see in the plastic, though – and we’re doing so presumably a few days early via Walmart, given the LEGO Group normally likes to shout loud and proud about its new Star Wars sets.

75305 Scout Trooper Helmet has the fewest elements of any in this range so far, ringing in at just 471 bricks – a stat reflected by its price, which Brickset lists as £44.99 / $49.99 / $49.99. 75304 Darth Vader Helmet comes in at the other extreme with 834 pieces, and will therefore be the most expensive LEGO Star Wars helmet yet at $69.99.

Walmart hasn’t given a firm release date for this new pair of helmets, but it seems likely that they’ll launch on April 1 if they’re already listed through the US retailer. That said, 76199 Carnage was revealed several weeks ahead of its US launch date, and a full month and a half before its worldwide launch, so both helmets could feasibly arrive later in April – or even in May.

These two buckets take us one step closer to rounding out the ranks of brick-built Imperial headgear, leaving only the Snowtrooper helmet, AT-AT Pilot helmet and perhaps the Royal Guards’ curved red cowl to be recreated from the original trilogy. Maybe more interesting than these two, then, is where the Helmet Collection goes from here. (Quick, someone remind the LEGO Group the prequel trilogy exists.)

For now, you can catch up on the current range of LEGO Star Wars helmets – including 75276 Stormtrooper Helmet and 75277 Boba Fett Helmet – at LEGO.com.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
