Two new LEGO Batman sets revealed by online retailer, including 1966 Batmobile
A Vietnamese retailer has published the first images of two new LEGO Batman sets, including a brand new version of the 1966 Batmobile.
This year has been pretty light on Bat-LEGO so far, with only 40453 Batman vs. The Penguin & Harley Quinn to speak of. It looks like that’s all about to change, though, with not only a new Bat–cowl on the horizon, but two brand new Bat-sets (h/t The Brick Fan).
76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile takes the best part of 2016’s 76052 Batman Classic TV Series Batcave and delivers it as its own product, complete with a display stand that apes the one found in 76139 1989 Batmobile (and its accompanying gift-with-purchase, 40433 1989 Batmobile Limited Edition).
You’ll find minifigures of Adam West’s Batman and Cesar Romero’s Joker in the box, though Burt Ward’s Robin is disappointingly absent. Still, you’ll no longer need to have buyer’s remorse over passing up on 76052 Batman Classic TV Series Batcave if all you wanted was the Batmobile. And if you did buy it purely for that reason… well, um, hard luck.
The same retailer has also revealed the first images of 76180 Batman vs. The Joker: Batmobile Chase, a 4+ set that probably won’t offer much to adult builders (with three repeated minifigures from last year’s summer sets in Batman, Joker and Batgirl), but looks pretty fun for its intended audience.
We don’t have official prices or release dates for these sets yet, although 76188 Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile was rumoured to have a price tag of just $29.99 in the US. We’ll let you know more as we get it.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
