First batch of LEGO Friends summer 2021 sets revealed

The first images of this summer’s LEGO Friends sets are online, revealing a brand new hotel and rollercoaster for the mini-doll theme.

Dutch retailer Van der Meulen has published images of five new Friends sets, which run the gamut from huge theme park models in 41685 Magical Funfair Rollercoaster to tiny slices of scenery in 41677 Forest Waterfall. That woodland setting is also represented in 41679 Forest House.

41684 Heartlake City Grand Hotel, meanwhile, takes a leaf out of 21318 Tree House’s book by including elements to redecorate across multiple seasons, with orange, brown and yellow pieces for autumn and white and trans-blue bricks for winter.

Finally, the sole 4+ set in this batch continues the veterinary subtheme from earlier 2021 sets with 41441 Horse Training and Trailer. You can check out all the images from Van der Meulen in the gallery above.

While no prices or release dates for these sets have been revealed at the moment, the timing of these images (and the precedent set by previous years) suggests we should expect to see them on shelves in June.

The same retailer has also published the first images of two of this summer’s LEGO Disney sets, which you can see by clicking here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
