Vote for a future GWP in LEGO Ideas coastal contest

The fan vote for LEGO Ideas’ coastal contest is now open, with one of 15 designs guaranteed to become a future gift-with-purchase.

With an incredible 826 entries to sift through, the LEGO Ideas team faced a tough task in whittling them down for a final shortlist – but they’ve now come up with 15 models that fit the bill for an official set, all themed around a day at the seaside.

You can browse all the finalists in the gallery below, which run the gamut from beach huts and piers to buildable animals and beach scenes. If you want to have your say on which one becomes a future GWP, however, you’ll need to scoot on over to the contest page (or the individual entry pages).

The poll will be open for exactly one week, which means you’ve got until May 25 to cast your vote. The LEGO Ideas team will then announce the overall winner by May 31. Alongside having their model turned into an official GWP, the grand prize winner will take home a selection of LEGO Ideas sets and previous gifts-with-purchase.

Five runners-up will also take home a smaller prize pool, but only one model can become a GWP, following in the revered footsteps of 40335 Space Rocket Ride and 40448 Vintage Car.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
