The LEGO Mythica contest winner is dedicated to family

The winner for LEGOLAND Windsor’s Mythica creature creation contest has been revealed, with a build dedicated to remembering a family member.

LEGOLAND Windsor’s latest expansion features a world of mythical brick-built beasts both big and small. However, with imagination being a core theme of the land, a contest was held to have a fan-designed creature become a massive model within MYTHICA.

The winner of that contest has now been revealed as Zoe Bingham, a nine-year-old student from Oxford, who dedicated her Beauty Beast design to her LEGO-loving uncle, who sadly passed away in August 2020.

“I’m so excited to see Beauty Beast made into a life-size model at LEGOLAND Windsor. My sister Emma and I both entered the competition a day before the closing date, and I never thought in a million years that my design would have a chance at being nominated.” said Zoe Bingham.

“Losing Uncle Rich during the pandemic was hard as we couldn’t see him for a long time. Zoe was really close to her uncle who encouraged her model making and I’m sure he would have been so proud and told everyone he knew. He would have called her ‘My clever niece’.” commented Liz Bingham, Zoe’s mum.

MYTHICA is now open at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and The Beauty Beast is now in the process of being transformed into a six-foot-tall model ready for installation amongst the other fantastical beasts in August.
