High-quality images of LEGO Super Mario 2022 sets revealed

High-quality images for the four upcoming LEGO Super Mario 2022 sets have been revealed, detailing the enemies and prints we’ll see next year.

Nintendo’s American Twitter account has officially announced the four Super Mario sets that were showcased on Chinese social media earlier today, with larger pictures providing a better look at what we can expect to find in the new expansions.

No names have been provided as part of the reveal yet, so please note that the listed titles are translated and may not be entirely accurate. You can see the full images in the gallery below with the models being 71396 Cool Bowser Jr Clown Spaceship Expansion Set, 71398 Sea Dragon King’s Beach Expansion Set, 71400 Big Brother Sea Urchin’s Surfing Expansion Set and 71402 Character Packs Series 4.

Thanks to the pictures, we can now see the full extent of the contents, with Cheep Cheeps returning from 71368 Toad’s Treasure Hunt Expansion Set, the Big Urchin being connected to the rollercoaster mechanism that will allow LEGO Mario to ride on a dolphin and the yellow Yoshi being on a new grey-coloured module, suggesting that the theme will be getting another biome next year.

The Mechakoopa in 71402 Character Packs Series 4 also comes with printed curved wooden tiles, which may match with the pieces found in sets such as LEGO Ideas 21318 Tree House.

There are no listings on the official online store for any of these sets yet, meaning the release dates and prices are unknown. However, they will likely launch alongside the three Luigi’s Mansion models on January 1, 2022. You can see how accurate those builds are to the source game in our in-depth feature.
