Hilarious Extras to look forward to in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

The Extras menu in the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game is full of hilarious modes to look forward to.

With so many new features appearing in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, it’s great to see that some classic game aspects will be making a welcome return. One of the traditional options in any TT Games LEGO title is an Extras menu, with the ability to switch certain special modes on and off.

Over the years these options have included Big Head Mode, Stud Magnet, Super Blasters, Fast Build, Minikit Detector and many others. Some of these extra items can radically alter a LEGO game, making it much easier to complete 100%, whilst others are just harmless fun.

Extras are usually unlocked when players find a Red Brick in a level, which then needs to be purchased in the options menu by spending studs. While there’s no confirmation of Red Bricks appearing in LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga so far, the Extras menu does include an ‘ENTER CODE’ option, so it’s possible there are alternative methods for unlocking each item.

Spending studs seems to once again be the main method for purchasing Extras, but this time they appear to be used in combination with a mysterious new collectible token item that we’ve yet to identify (see image below). This item is collected by IG-88 in one section of the overview trailer, but it’s yet to be revealed exactly what it is or what it does.

From what we’ve seen so far in the overview trailer, the following Extra items will be available in the game and some state what happens when they’re activated:

Studs x4

Studs x6

Studs x8

Studs x10

Super GNK Droid

Porg Companion

Baguette Lightsabers

Galaxy Rave — Turns the Galaxy into a fun disco for all to enjoy!

Television Mode — Adds an old-timey screen effect to the game

Hologram Mode — Gives playable characters a hologram look

Retro Mode — Adds a retro style screen effect to the game. (Try combining with “Mumble Mode” for a truly nostalgic experience!)

GNK Civilians — Replaces all civilians with GNK droids. “GONK!”

Mumble Mode — Replaces all voices with mumbles for the classic LEGO Star Wars experience!

Comedy Weapons

Rainbow Effects

Cantina Music

Mumble Mode is shown (or heard) in its full hilarious glory in the overview trailer and we can’t wait to discover what other hidden Extras are waiting to be unlocked.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set for release on April 5, with pre-order bonuses and versions listed in our handy updated guide.
