LEGO Super Mario and Harry Potter selected for Dream Toys 2020

The toy industry has named the sets that have made the Dream Toys top 12 list for 2020 – Super Mario 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course and Harry Potter 75979 Hedwig.

Today sees the announcement of the Dream Toys list for 2020, a list of recommended toys for Christmas from the Toy Retailers Association. There’s the top 12, which features two LEGO sets, and the long list that features another four sets.

Super Mario 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course and Harry Potter 75979 Hedwig have made the top 12, while DOTS 41905 Rainbow Jewellery Stand, Friends 41424 Jungle Rescue Base, Star Wars 75290 501st Legion Clone Troopers and Technic 42111 Dom’s Dodge Charger have made the long list.

“Two Dream Toys wins for 2020 and six products in the Dream Toys long list is true testimony to the strength and breadth of our portfolio,” says Marius Lang, LEGO Head of Marketing for UK & Ireland. “It’s fantastic for this to be recognised by so many of the toy industry’s top figures, and these winning products are just a snapshot of the innovation, creativity and imagination we inject into all our LEGO sets.

“At the start of the year we announced that for 2020 we’d be launching a series of innovative new play experiences whilst ensuring the LEGO brick remains at the heart of what we do, and I’m incredibly proud that not only have we delivered on this but that they have been received so positively by audiences of all ages.”

“We implore consumers not to leave their Christmas shopping to the final few weeks of the year,” esays Gary Grant, chair of the DreamToys selection committee. “Due to COVID-19 restrictions across the country, retailers will simply not be able to service as many people in store due to social distancing. In addition, couriers are already overloaded and will struggle to meet the demand to get presents to people before Christmas. Added to this is the limited availability of stock compared to previous years; our advice is to shop early to avoid missing out.”
