21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay LEGO display case review

The best LEGO sets like 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay deserve the best display cases to show them off in, and we’ve found the perfect one…

Brick Fanatics has partnered with iDisplayit and every so often will bring you reviews of some of their display cases and stands. We’ve recently taken a look at one of the newest products they have released – a case for 10274 Ghostbusters ECTO-1 – so let’s take a look at one of the biggest.

This Black Friday iDisplayit are offering 20% off all purchases on their website, worldwide. During the Saturday and Sunday that follow, all purchases of over £100 will receive a free BrickHeadz display case.

The LEGO display solution company offers cases (and stands) in a variety of sizes to suit a wide range of LEGO sets available, and one of the largest is for the beautiful Pirates-inspired Ideas set, 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay.

If you have the space, special LEGO sets like this deserve to sit on display, but, as is the case with all LEGO sets and particularly so in this case, the constant threat of dust looms large. 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay is one of those sets with any number of nooks and crannies for dust to gather within it too and, indeed, just in having the set out for photography and review over the course of a couple of weeks saw more than its fair share of dust begin to form.

iDisplayit’s display cases are designed in such a way to keep almost 100% of dust out. We’ve had one of their cases sat in the office for over a year now to show off 21318 Tree House and it still looks as good as new today.

The real appeal to their particular design of display case is the clarity and cleanliness of the acrylic plastic. The connections that piece the four sides and lid together are (strong but) minimal and combined with such clear plastic really allow for the set inside to jump out. The choice of a white or black base also aids in this effect whilst also adding to the overall aesthetic of premium presentation.

There’s no hiding that iDisplayit’s products are priced at that premium level, but it is matched in quality and style. It’s also felt in how securely the products are packaged when sent out to you – the six plastic sheets for the case are each covered in protective film on both sides, then shrink-wrapped together and cushioned with cardboard. As one they are then slide into a box that itself is then surrounded with bubble wrap before being packed in an outer box. That’s better protection than any LEGO set sent through the post…

Construction is simple but effective, with some fixtures and screws holding each of the four sides and the lid together, before it is fitted into secure place on the base. Instructions are included and it’s as simple as any IKEA product.

The display case for 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay is, as mentioned, rather big, as is required so as to comfortably house the diorama set. It’s even too big to photograph on our backdrop…

There aren’t many ways to further sell such a product as a display case like this. For everything you would hope and expect from a premium-priced display case, iDisplayit more than delivers. It’s a product that may not be suitable for every single set in your collection, but it is a must-have for those that are most special.

This display case was provided for review by iDisplayit. The 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay display case retails for £108 – directly support the work that we do at Brick Fanatics by purchasing your iDisplayit cases or stands through this affiliate link.

Hi, nice review! Is that case suitable with ship or just only with island?
