LEGO Modular Buildings Collection 10278 Police Station announced

The LEGO Group has unveiled the Modular Buildings Collection 10278 Police Station, the next set in the series of buildings for adult fans.

It’s almost time for a new LEGO modular building, with Modular Buildings Collection 10278 Police Station unveiled today by the LEGO Group. The 2,923 piece set will retail for £169.99 / £199.99 / €179.99 when it launches on January 1. The model’s dimensions are 37cm high, 25cm wide and 25cm deep.

Unusually, the main central building has a thin building either side, rather than the usual format of a single building or two half-width buildings. The press release suggests it be used as “a centrepiece to a bustling LEGO neighbourhood”. As well as ornate exterior, the interior of the model is packed with detail as fans have come to expect.

Without any stereotyping at all, 10278 Police Station includes a donut shop, with the box art even having fun and suggesting the criminal can is stealing the beloved snacks. There’s also a newspaper kiosk and 1940s inspired police officer minifigure. Putting the set in a particular place and time are a billboard, telephone and a typewriter.

“We’ve had a lot of fun designing the LEGO Police Station. An architectural gem and treasure trove of quirky features, it’s the perfect place to start building your LEGO streetscape, or a brilliant addition to an existing one,” says Model Designer Chris McVeigh.
