Official box art for LEGO Chinese New Year 2021 sets unveiled

Amazon Canada has revealed the official box art for 2021’s Chinese New Year sets, 80106 Story of Nian and 80107 Spring Lantern Festival.

The LEGO Group unveiled both of the colourful sets at this year’s China International Import Exhibition. They’ve been developed specifically for the Chinese market, but they’ll also be available worldwide through LEGO.com, following the company’s promise to abandon regional exclusives.

The sets have been up on the online store since mid-November, giving us a better look at what each box contains. The artwork, however, has remained a mystery – until now. The red and gold packaging sits in line with the rest of the range, decorated with 2021’s Year of the Ox and labelled with a ‘Chinese Festival Special Edition’ seal.

Both of these sets represent great value on paper. Fortunately, we don’t have long to wait to find out whether that holds up in plastic: our reviews of both models are just a few days away. You’ll be able to get your hands on them from January 10, 2021.

They’re not the only Chinese New Year-themed sets coming in 2021. 40466 Chinese New Year Pandas will also bring the festivities to the BrickHeadz theme from January 1.
