How to build a custom LEGO Jurassic World robo-raptor

Learn how to build a custom LEGO Jurassic World robo-raptor to add a sense of mechanised menace to your dinosaur collection.

Shortly after the LEGO Group released the mighty 75938 T. rex vs Dino-Mech Battle, here at Brick Fanatics we just had to try our hand at a mini robotic Velociraptor build to go with it.

Check out the images and video below to see how we put this programmable predator into brick form.

This build was originally featured in Issue 10 of Brick Fanatics Magazine, in which we also interviewed the LEGO designer behind 75938 T. rex vs Dino-Mech Battle.

Meanwhile, the robo-raptor model is also an extension of a previous Brick Fanatics Velociraptor build. It has been designed to capture both the physical atttributes and movements of a Velociraptor and the bright green, yellow and dark red colour scheme that the Dino-Mech in 75938 is also based on, inspired by the iconic vehicles that appeared in the original Jurassic Park film.

The model has also been scaled appropriately to the Dino-Mech – pair them together to make for a loving, robotic dinosaur family.

After the parts list? We distribute parts lists to our models free of charge and exclusively through our newsletter in .xml format. You can upload these .xml files to BrickLink, where all the pieces required to recreate the model will be listed, as well as available for purchase from a selection of vendors based around the world.

Aside from receiving free access to all our parts lists once created, there are many reasons to sign up to the Brick Fanatics newsletter. To sign up, enter your email address at the ‘Brick Fanatics Newsletter’ box situated in the sidebar and select a preferred region (though sign-ups are open worldwide).
