Vintage LEGO Space and Octan hats coming to VIP Rewards Centre

Three new LEGO hats are coming to the VIP Rewards Centre next week, including two vintage baseball caps with Classic Space and Octan logos.

Available exclusively in adult sizing – appropriately enough, given their retro designs – the two vintage hats, in blue or orange, will require 2,400 VIP points apiece to redeem. As with regular VIP rewards, you’ll be given a code that you’ll then have 60 days to use as part of an order at LEGO.com. That could be as small as a single keychain, or as large as 75192 Millennium Falcon.

If you want to qualify for free delivery, you’ll need to spend at least £50 / $50 / €50, but with plenty on the horizon – including new Lightyear, Star Wars and Jurassic World sets all launching later this month – that shouldn’t be too difficult.

A third cap – this time sized for kids, and in yellow with an appropriately silly minifigure design – will also be available in the VIP Rewards Centre alongside the two adult hats. You’ll need to spend 1,600 points (or the equivalent of £10 in VIP rewards vouchers in the UK) to net that one.

All three of the hats will be available from Tuesday, April 12 at 10am UK time, in all regions (except Mexico). They each feature an adjustable strap, while the two adult caps are also described as 100% cotton. Stock of the adult hats will be limited to one of each per person, while you’ll be able to redeem up to two of the kids’ hat per VIP account.

There’s no word on how many of each hat will be produced, but supplies are likely to be fairly limited based on previous VIP rewards. Nevertheless, the limit on claiming them should hopefully ensure they last a bit longer than last year’s NASA Ulysses Space Probe (for example).

And if you don’t have enough VIP points to grab the one you want, now’s the time to place an order and rack them up ahead of Tuesday…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
