LEGO Ideas’ latest 10K space project is based on a game

The world of Kerbal Space Program could be the next space set for LEGO Ideas’ design team as another project reaches the review stage.

Now included in the second 2023 review round, Sam67c’s Kerbal Space Program submission has reached 10,000 supporters. Kerbal Space Program is a rocket-building game featuring Kerbals instead of people.

Sam67c has even released a video to celebrate the occasion.

This achievement gives the project a shot at becoming a future LEGO Ideas set as part of the second 2023 review round, though it is up against some models based on more recognisable franchises than the video game.

However, this project proposes enough pieces to make one of 40 combinations of space-faring vehicles as well as two Kerbal minifigures.

It’s the latest submission in the current review round, a selection that you can see in its entirety in the following table.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
