Latest LEGO Ideas 10K submission is an open and shut case

The latest LEGO Ideas submission to hit the magic 10K supporters’ mark is a unique hybrid of travel luggage and miniature steam train set.

The first LEGO Ideas review of 2024 is really starting to pick up some serious pace, with 15 fan-made creations currently in the running to become physical sets at some point. As usual, one of the highlights of each review comes from seeing the sheer diversity of builds that manage to gain 10,000 supporters, whether based on existing IPs or original concepts.

The latest design to hit that magic mark is definitely in the latter category, with Suitcase Express! actually being a combination of two different builds in one. The LEGO Ideas submission comes from UsualBuilder, who decided to create a unique piece of brick-built hand luggage that opens up to reveal a moving steam train diorama.

Opening up the primarily red suitcase showcases the micro scene inside and a small handle at the front can be used to scroll the track underneath the engine and carriages, which is a great feature. Suitcase Express! includes a total of 2,988 pieces and measure over 33cm wide, 27cm deep and is 16cm tall.
