Alternate LEGO Marvel apparel in Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special

One of the exclusive minifigures in 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar has a slight change from the Marvel Studios holiday special. 

Drax’s exclusive minifigure in 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar doesn’t quite match up with the character’s outfit in the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. While both are wearing green holiday jumpers, you may have noticed that the designs on them are different. Note that this article will feature minor spoilers for the contents of 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar.

In the LEGO set, Drax’s jumper has a dancing Groot surrounded by patterns and musical notes. However, the jumper in the special presentation instead depicts a cat wearing a Santa hat shooting lasers from its eyes. Unless this cat is related to Cyclops, it’s not exactly Marvel-specific like the LEGO Minifigure’s clothing. Whichever design you prefer, the minifigure displays Groot on the jumper.

Similarly, the trailer doesn’t show Nebula wearing a jumper of any kind, despite the minifigure having one. Instead, Mantis is seen wearing a seasonal jumper but the minifigure is without one. 

We know from the Ms. Marvel series that in-universe merchandise based on the Guardians of the Galaxy exists so it’s more likely that the LEGO designers only had access to a certain amount of information regarding the holiday special while designing 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar. 

Despite this difference, 76231 Guardians of the Galaxy Advent Calendar is an excellent option for counting down to Christmas, as you can read in our review, with the model available now.
