Are we about to get a release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

GamesRadar’s Future Games Show gets underway tonight, and may finally bring us the long-awaited release date for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

It’s been all quiet on the LEGO video game front since last August, when Warner Bros. revealed at Gamescom that its saga-spanning sequel had been delayed until spring 2021. Well, that time is now upon us, and we still have little to no idea when we’ll be able to get our hands on the game.

That could be about to change, however, through the Future Games Show. The online showcase of – you guessed it – future games will kick off at 9.45pm UK time, and Warner Bros. is among the publishers on the bill.

Given the company’s other major title for 2021, Gotham Knights, has recently been pushed back to 2022, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that tonight’s showcase will finally bring us some shred of news on LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

We’re dearly hoping that news isn’t that the game has been delayed yet again, but the signs are pretty positive at this stage. The game’s deluxe edition minifigure is already out in the wild, while Warner Bros. announced Gotham Knights’ delay via social media – so why would it wait for an event to do the same for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

We’ll find out either way tonight. You can tune into the show on GamesRadar’s YouTube channel, but don’t worry if you can’t make it: we’ll bring you all the news on the hugely-anticipated sequel if and when it comes in. For now, here’s everything we know about LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga so far.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
