Bahrain celebrates successful inaugural LEGO SHOWS

The month of August saw the LEGO Group collaborate with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) on the first LEGO SHOWS.

Over the course of almost two weeks, 26,000 people visited LEGO SHOWS in the first official brick convention held in Bahrain, News of Bahrain reports.

“The LEGO SHOWS event received great attendance over a period of 10 days, attracting more than 26,000 visitors from the Kingdom and neighbouring GCC countries,” said BTEA Chief Executive Officer Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa.

The event was hosted in order to boost the country’s tourism centre with family audiences, coinciding with Cartoon Network Live! Heroes Unite. The sizable event featured millions of bricks, huge sculptures, build challenges and obstacle courses. Themes represented included City, Friends, Star Wars, NINJAGO and Duplo, as children got hands on with the endless supply of interlocking bricks.
