How to find the best bargains over LEGO VIP Weekend

LEGO VIP Weekend is upon us, so here’s a complete guide to finding the best bargains, offers and deals across the pre-Black Friday event.

There’s a number of discounts and exclusive promotions to enjoy over the next two days, and we know it can be hard to keep track of it all. That’s why we’ve assembled this list of everything to look out for over the weekend – and how best to make the most of everything on offer.

Double VIP points

The most obvious benefit of the VIP weekend is double VIP points on all purchases. This means that if you’re a VIP member (and why wouldn’t you be?) this is an excellent opportunity to boost your point total. If you’ve been waiting to buy something (even if there isn’t a discount on it) now is the perfect time to do so – provided it stays in stock, of course.

Indeed, LEGO VIP Weekend is something of a risk/reward scenario. While double VIP points is a great incentive, it’s beside the point if what you want isn’t in stock. It’s a good idea to place your order as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

All confirmed deals and GWPs

One of the main reasons to shop at LEGO.com is the exclusive promotional items the site offers. In true LEGO VIP Weekend tradition, there are a few exclusive items to pick up in this period, including two gifts-with-purchase.

40484 Santa’s Front Yard is the cheapest GWP this year. It features a number of desirable elements, including a red elf hat, a stickered moon piece and a brick-built reindeer. You’ll need to spend £170 / $170 / €170 to acquire it, though it will be available over both the LEGO VIP Weekend and Black Friday period (while stocks last).

A retro LEGO tin sign is also available over the next two days only, exclusively for VIP members. This will prove a little tricker to acquire, as you’ll need to spend £250 / $250 / €250 or more. However, it’ll make a tasteful decoration to any LEGO room – which, if you’re spending £250 on LEGO, you probably have.

There are also sales and rewards to be found in the VIP Rewards Centre. You’ll be able to get discounts on existing rewards, as well as one-day deals on other products. A more enticing prize may be the vintage camera. Complete with roll of film and what seems to be a lens cap, it can be redeemed for 2,000 VIP points. If you’ve been stockpiling VIP points, you may find this set rather compelling.

You can also try your luck with the VIP sweepstake, which is offering a 55cm-tall brick-built bonsai tree as a prize. This is much bigger than the existing 10281 Bonsai Tree, and uses bricks instead of plant elements for its foliage. You can enter the sweepstake from November 20.

Getting the best LEGO VIP Weekend deals

The best approach here is to get in as early as possible. It’s best to focus on big sets for your shopping, especially if you’re looking to score double VIP points. Don’t let the high prices fool you – this is an opportunity many LEGO fans won’t pass up. As such, even big sets are likely to sell out before long, while the gifts-with-purchase could also be in short supply.

If there’s something you particularly want to pick up (especially with Christmas around the corner), you may want to bite the bullet and order now. While you might miss out on discounts or VIP points, it’s kind of a moot point if what you want is no longer available – and sets are selling out all the time.

Independent Black Friday discounts

Alongside the LEGO Group, a number of independent retailers are offering tempting deals on awesome products across LEGO VIP Weekend. If you’re looking for something off the beaten track or to otherwise enhance your existing LEGO collection, this is a great opportunity to pick them up.

For instance, Brick Fanatics readers can get an exclusive discount on Blocks magazine during LEGO VIP Weekend. Use the code BF15 for a 15% discount on a two-year print Blocks subscription. This in turn gives you instant access to all 85 digital back issues.

Blocks is also offering a £1,000 LEGO gift card as a prize. To be in with a chance of winning it, you need to subscribe before December 23. Signing up over LEGO VIP Weekend with Brick Fanatics‘ discount code will automatically enter you into the prize draw.

Elsewhere, iDisplayit will be discounting a number of its products during LEGO VIP Weekend. Their product range includes both single-set stands and enclosures, which help you keep dust off your display pieces. We’re proud to offer exclusive discounts on these products, which we’ll reveal on Saturday.

Lightailing is offering a 30% discount on its winter series lighting kits, giving you the opportunity to light up your Winter Village Collection for less. 10293 Santa’s Visit is obviously included, but older Seasonal sets such as 40426 Christmas Wreath 2-in-1 and 40338 Christmas Tree – released as a promotional item in 2019 – also have lighting kits of their own. If you’ve built up a wintery LEGO collection over the years, now is definitely the time to illuminate them.

Finally, FireStar Toys is offering discounts across its entire product line this November. The site sells a mix of official and custom LEGO elements from multiple themes, meaning there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Enter our exclusive code BF10 at checkout to receive a 10% discount on your order.
