Big Bang and hit US shows get the LEGO treatment

Following The LEGO Batman Movie cross-promotions with Channel 4, Sky and Chevy, a number of popular US TV shows have been given the LEGO treatment.

CW shows Arrow, Supergirl and Gotham are part of the promotional activity for the network that is co-owned by Warner Bros., the studio behind The LEGO Batman Movie. Other Warner Bros. shows that are not based on DC comic book titles have still had huge LEGO billboards erected. The Big Bang Theory, The Middle and 2 Broke Girls are just come of the popular series included.

Warner Bros. share some statistics on what went into the billboards:

More than 10,000 LEGO bricks were used to create the LEGO versions of each show billboard, building practical sets and characters to be photographed for the billboards. The creation process took more than 300 hours of building and compositing.

Once printed, the billboards took an estimated 70 total hours to install, requiring more than 1,000 feet of aircraft cable and in excess of 4,000 feet of electrical wire.

To see the billboards in person, you’ll need to drive past the Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles where they will be in place for a few weeks.

The LEGO Batman Movie is in cinemas February 10. The LEGO Batman Movie range of LEGO sets are currently available to buy at shop.LEGO.com.
