Black Adam first look trailer revealed at DC FanDome

DC FanDome is over for another year, but it has brought a first look at the new Black Adam movie, focusing on the iconic Shazam villain.

The latest teaser for Black Adam is here, promoting the upcoming film ahead of its release on July 29, 2022. The four-minute showcase features concept art for the project, a clip from the opening as well as a few words from starring actor Dwayne Johnson.

Also featuring in the 2022 movie is Pierce Brosnan as superhero Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman and plenty more characters. In the comics, Black Adam is an enemy of Shazam, as was seen in a LEGO DC movie Blu-ray including an exclusive Shazam minifigure based on his cinematic appearance. The same name was used in the opening clip but it has yet to be confirmed if Black Adam will appear in the upcoming sequel – Shazam: Fury of the Gods – for the titular superhero.

Should the future of Black Adam in the DCEU include plans for future appearances, it may be that the LEGO Group has an opportunity to recreate the character in his first physical minifigure, with past cameos including a digital version in the 2020 animated movie and LEGO Games.

Nothing has been confirmed regarding LEGO DC in 2022 other than four The Batman sets. The presence of the film, which just received a new trailer, in the LEGO Group’s DC plans for 2022 might suggest that other upcoming projects could be getting similar treatment.

We’ve got plenty of articles covering the LEGO The Batman models, including four potential plot points in them as well as one for the first The Flash trailer from DC FanDome too.
