Brick Fanatics Magazine at Reading Brick Show

The first ever Reading Brick Show was held this past weekend, with Brick Fanatics Magazine in attendance.

Robot Wars proved a crowd pleaser across the two-day event held at the Rivermead Leisure Complex in Reading, as did the Pinewood Derby, where people could build and race cars down an exceptionally long ramp.

There was both hand-drawn and brick-built artwork on display, an obstacle course for visitors to drive Technic trucks over and around, and a giant Velociraptor prowling around (from Marwell Zoo, who brought some nice LEGO sculptures along). Alongside a number of custom displays from both Brickish Association and school pupils local to the area, this was an event packed with things to see and do.

The show’s organisers prioritised giving visitors an experience filled with activity, and their attention to the smaller details helped make all the difference.

Brick Fanatics Magazine also had a stand at the show and were represented by Maddie and Rob across the two days, with a bonus appearance on the Saturday by Tim. It really is great to meet readers and to talk to people about our magazine, as we continue to introduce it to a wider audience.

The event pulled in coverage from local press, with Radio Berkshire dropping by on the Saturday morning (35 minutes in), the Reading Chronicle writing up a report and Get Reading providing a great selection of images (even if they did spell Huw’s name wrong!).

Thank you to Mike and Erica for inviting us to Reading Brick Show – we’ll be back next year.
