Brick week coming to the Midland Railway – Butterely

The Midland Railway-Butterley is excited to announce their new event for 2016 ‘The Butterley Brick Week’ this LEGO®  themed week will be full of workshops, models and  trains.

On display will be the transport collection from ‘The Bricks in Motion’show from ‘Bright Bricks’ which are a private limited company and home to the UK’s only LEGO® Certified Professional

The ‘Bricks in Motion’ show is a culmination of four years of experience building amazing creations for clients all over the World. After successful installations in a number of museums ‘Bright Bricks’ decided to create their own touring show that would prove irresistible to venues as a massive crowd draw, that will see the public flocking into to view the amazing creations and get involved in lots of fun LEGO activities.      

‘JuniorStem’ are holding Engineering & Programming Workshopsusing LEGO® ‘WeDo™’ which provides the perfect foundation for learning computing” in Deeley’s function room on Swanwick Junction platform.

These workshops will only run over the bank holiday weekend 28-30 May and are charged for separately at £5 per child with a maximum of 2 children allowed per laptop .

Running throughout the whole week’s event are LEGO® Train Build Workshops were each child gets to build their very own steam train from LEGO® and get to take it home with them. This workshop is also charged for separately at £5 per child.  

Their Railway Museum, Country Park, Golden Valley Light Railway, West Shed Experience, Demonstration Signal Box, Victorian Railwayman’s Church, Model Railways, Shops and Buffets will all be open. The narrow gauge Golden Valley Light Railway will also be running trains through the Country Park.
