BrickCon 2020 begins today

BrickCon 2020 takes the annual LEGO event online this weekend, offering programming for casual LEGO fans and AFOLs alike.

Today sees BrickCon 2020 kick off, as the annual US LEGO convention moves online. With full days of programming on Saturday and Sunday, the event launches today with the Opening Ceremony, a shopping opportunity and a social hour.

As is the case when the event is held physically, there are two different ticket types for the event. Both tickets are still available, so fans with some free time this weekend can still register and get immersed in the brick.

The public event features access to the hundreds of impressive MOCs that have been submitted around the world, as well as two days of livestreamed content. The schedule includes a tour of the LEGO Houser Masterpiece Gallery, LEGO robot battles and interviews with LEGO MASTERS contestants.

The AFOL event, which starts at 6.00pm PDT today with the Opening Ceremony, features everything in the regular convention plus additional livestreams and the chance to vote on the best builds. Programming includes building tutorials, quizzes and presentations – with a few from LEGO employees.

I’ll be hosting LEGO for big kids: The road to 18+, a presentation looking at how the LEGO Group has evolved the company’s adult offering over the years.
