Christmas is coming to the LEGO House

The LEGO House has announced plans for an online Christmas celebration supported by a couple of seasonal contests.

Billed as an ‘informal and fun’ festive celebration, the ticketed virtual event will be hosted by Astrid Mueller, Senior Event and Tour Manager at the LEGO House and Jan Beyer, AFOL Community Integration Manager.

The only aspect of the itinerary that has been revealed so far is the grand prize draw for two competitions that’s running in the build-up to the event.

The first competition challenges builders to create a Christmas-inspired model of their own invention on an 8×8 plate. The second competition is a written exercise, asking people to share their best LEGO Christmas childhood memory in under 200 words. Ticket holders are invited to submit their entries via email by December 8.

Both competitions come with some very enticing prizes. The winning entry in each contest will receive all three of the LEGO House Exclusive sets: 40501 The Wooden Duck, 4000026 Tree of Creativity and 40366 LEGO House Dinosaurs. Second place will receive the latter two sets, whilst third place will get the Tree of Creativity.

All three of those sets are usually only available for purchase in person from the LEGO House shop. That makes this competition a rare opportunity for fans from further afield to get their hands on these exclusive models.

The hour-long event is scheduled for Friday, December 11 at 7pm GMT. Tickets cost 50 DKK, which equates to roughly £6, €6.71 or $7.97, and can be purchased from the LEGO House website.
