Concept art reveals a supervillain was cut from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art reveals that another supervillain was set to appear in the movie but was cut from the final version.

Peter Parker and his webbed alter ego definitely had their hands full in Spider-Man: No Way Home, with five villains from previous Marvel movies making an appearance. Whilst some fans were hoping for a full-on gathering of the Sinister Six in the film, only Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Electro, Sandman and the Lizard made the cut.

Now, new artwork from Andrew Reeder, a digital artist who worked on the movie, has surfaced, revealing that Mysterio himself was also set to appear at one point. Quentin Beck’s character died in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but some fans thought that may also have been an elaborate illusion. A Mysterio minifigure was included with 76184 Spider-Man vs. Mysterio’s Drone Attack, but that set was only branded as being ‘Inspired by Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man No Way Home’ and not a direct tie-in.

However, the concept art above shows Mysterio battling Doctor Strange at the climax of the film, suggesting that the long-rumoured Sinister Six supervillain team would finally have become a cinematic reality. Alas, with so many characters appearing in the film, it wasn’t meant to be, and poor old Quentin was ultimately cut.
