Could these be future LEGO DC minifigures?

The director of an upcoming DC Extended Universe movie has revealed a new set of superhero costume designs, potentially indicating what could be in store for some future LEGO minifigures.

When Shazam first released in 2019 as the latest chapter of the DCEU, the LEGO Group chose not to follow the path of Marvel or their other DC releases and instead only produced a single polybag for the film 30623 SHAZAM! was used as a promotional set and came free with LEGO video games and likely in a few other places too.

However, with the character now receiving a sequel alongside several other iterations of the magical superhero it seems as good a time as any for the LEGO Group to shift the focus from Batman – as in the recent summer wave – to Shazam. Whilst no sets have been confirmed, with the character popular enough for another turn on the silver screen, it seems plausible that more sets and minifigures could be considered by the LEGO Group.

The suits for the sequel have been revealed by Director David F. Sandberg and can be seen in the tweet above, with the colourful cast looking particularly heroic in their costumes.

Should the LEGO Group produce more sets, or even additional polybags for Shazam: Fury of the Gods, these may be the designs that are used.

We’ll keep you updated on the latest for LEGO DC sets and other projects as more films are on the horizon for the DCEU.
