Fangemeinden sind sich über die LEGO One Piece Sets uneinig
Days after the reveal of the LEGO One Piece sets, fans are divided on the upcoming releases depending on their familiarity with the world of LEGO.
Fünf LEGO Einteilige Sets (und zwei BrickHeadz) are coming in August, based specifically on the Netflix adaptation of the anime and manga series. These include new minifigures, fresh elements, collectable posters and some accurate designs with a LEGO twist, but not everyone is impressed with them.
The LEGO community has been positive in response to seeing the neue Sets overall, with some even taking note of the box art design (not including that of 75640 Das schwimmende Restaurant Baratie).
“I don’t know how to describe it, but the box art feels like the dozen of 2000s era licensed sets that are remembered fondly but didn’t go for long enough,” commented tupe12 on the LEGO subreddit.
Nostalgia has been a major part of the excitement for these sets for many in the online LEGO community, including some who specifically call back to the days of movie tie-in sets such as Prince of Persia and the variety of price points covered and new, specific pieces to capture characters perfectly.
“These look great and make me miss the era of when films would get tie-in Lego sets,” shared KeineNefariousness2144. “I’m especially pleased with the number of new moulds. The best set is the Going Merry, mainly because it’s the most iconic part of the show and includes the full crew. The smallest set is surprisingly great, considering that set in a wave can be mid. The hut is a great build, and each minifigure is exclusive.”
Unfortunately, fans on the One Piece subreddit aren’t quite as positive after seeing the five neue Sets, mostly because they’re based specifically on the live-action adaptation.
“I’m still pretty disappointed that these are based on their Netflix appearances rather than the anime or manga, gonna be a pass from me,” said tetsuneda.
"75639 Das fröhliche Piratenschiff looks pretty similar, and will be the easiest to customise,” noted Awkward-Operation119. “The minifigures are solid, too. I just wish the Buggy set was something good, €50 just for Buggy is not a good deal”
While many in the LEGO community are pleased with the largest LEGO One Piece set in terms of value and its design, One Piece fans aren’t all as impressed with 75640 Das schwimmende Restaurant Baratie.

75640 Das schwimmende Restaurant Baratie is designed to be completely open at the back for full access to the interior, but this isn’t an acceptable compromise for some fans. The comments on the ship’s colour scheme compared to the anime series aren’t the LEGO Group’s fault, though, since the Netflix version looks precisely like the set.
There is one positive point that those in the One Piece community agree on, though: Buggy the Clown is perfect for a LEGO minifigure. Buggy’s powers include the ability to separate his body parts and control them individually, and unlike many action figures, LEGO Minifiguren are designed to be taken apart and put back together.
“I never realised just how perfectly fitting Buggy’s Devil Fruit was for the LEGO universe”, commented Nxhko.
