Mein LEGO-Einkaufsplan für den 1. Juni, wobei ich einige der Headliner außer Acht lasse
My priorities for June 1 are a little different on the fringe of the new LEGO releases, but it’s still going to be a busy day for me.
Despite appreciating the diversity that’s coming out on June 1, a lot of the big releases don’t appeal to me. I watched The Simpsons as a kid, but 10352 Die Simpsons: Krusty Burger just isn’t doing it for me. I’m an avid reader, but not much of a Herr der Ringe or Sherlock fan, and I feel like 76450 Bücherecke: Hogwarts Express could have visited a more magical location.
While I love the attention to detail on 21357 Luxo Jr. and can’t deny it looks the part, the Pixar lamp has always scared me slightly, ever since watching it squish the poor letter I for the first time as a child. Plus, as a LEGO fan who doesn’t care that much about minifigures, 21358 Minifiguren-Verkaufsautomat is an impressive feat – but not one for me.
All that said, that still leaves dozens more LEGO sets to choose from in what’s about to be a very busy month – and I’m sorely tempted by quite a few. Just like Chris, I’ve got a code for 40787 Spiny Shell ready to go, so will be adding that to any order I make. Unlike Chris, I don’t have a baby that needs nappies and clothing, so there’s nothing stopping me from splurging on June 1.
The set that I knew I would be getting day one since I saw it revealed, an instinct that was only cemented when I read Jack’s review of itist 21276 Der Creeper. Having already been gifted 21265 Der Basteltisch and having played Minecraft for well over a decade now (ouch), the display-ready Creeper is simply a must, especially at that incredibly reasonable price.
One of my favourite sets that I already own is 21315 Pop-Up Book. As I said above, I’ve always been a book lover, with LEGO and books continuously vying for space on shelves that never feel big enough. When I can tick two boxes at once with a LEGO set that looks like a book, I absolutely will – and now that’s finally possible once more.
76449 Kauendes Monsterbuch der Monster may not open all the way like 21315 Pop-Up Book, but the chomping feature works just as well. I’m certainly going to be adding it to my Harry Potter shelf, next to all the original copies of the books I’ve had since childhood, although I picture it coming out to demonstrate to Freunde about as often as I show off how 76429 Sprechender Sprechender Hut can sort people into houses via sound brick.
Last but not least, I told myself I was putting LEGO Botanicals purchases on pause while I focus on keeping some real plants alive (pray for my new monstera, people) but 10349 Glückliche Pflanzen is just too darn cute. The little faces, the fact that they can hold hands – how is someone meant to say no to that?
That will have to conclude my LEGO purchases for June 1, although there are certainly more that caught my eye. Thankfully, they’ll be around a little while longer, so perhaps I’ll return to buy more in July (my birthday month) when releases have calmed down somewhat. See you then!
