There’s no better gift than the gift of LEGO – but here’s how to ruin it if you’ve got a mischievous streak running wild.

However, one redditor has taken the act of gifting LEGO and flipped it on its head. bman_1013 on reddit has shared the process of giving their sister LEGO Icons 10307 Eiffelturm – a pricey £555 gift – but with a twist.
They spent two months wrapping each individual piece in wrapping paper, then returning them to the numbered bags, and wrapping the bags themselves. She’ll get the tallest LEGO set ever released – but the process of building it will be a long one.
“It took me two months on and off to wrap every piece, eight rolls of tape, and a few close calls,” they wrote in the caption. “Totally worth it!”
People in the comments were both applauding and (lightheartedly) condemning the redditor’s actions, with BrandonTheMage writing: “I feel uncomfortable living on the same planet with the person who would do this.”
“If someone did this to me, I’d be researching methods of chemically dissolving paper and tape without damaging plastic and dump everything into a bucket,” wrote Crafty_Possession_52.
“So I saw the first photo. Thought, oh nice they’re going the extra mile to make bags of each piece type to make it easier to build it,” wrote CeeseClouds. “Scroll to the second, oh…oh no…”
It’s certainly a devious way to gift any LEGO set, but with 49,000 upvotes on the LEGO subreddit so far, the people seem to be in favour – at least as it’s not happening to them. Next time you’re giving a LEGO set to someone in your life, why not ruin their day in the same way?
